Have you ever began to notice connections between seemingly random events in you life that at some point come together in your mind in the form of a story that yearned to be shared ? The author has had many such thoughts throughout his 65 years but never lifted a pen. That is until a daughter forcibly encouraged him to start writing. “Daddy” she screamed into the phone, “I don’t want something to happen to you before your grandchildren have a chance to hear or read your stories.’
Throughout “God Left Footprints on My Heart”, the author encourages the reader to begin the process of doing the same for their grandchildren.” Too many stories throughout the ages have been lost to the graveyards of regret having never been told.
These life occurrences are not random, for God, the author of all things, is not a random God.
Me. Mona Collins? This is James Rioux. I was at your office a few weeks ago, and well, I had written an article for the paper about my experience, and it was published in the paper yesterday. I just wanted to make sure that you saw it.
Mona. Mr. Rioux! Yes, I saw it! She screamed into the phone, I had to leave church because my phone was exploding. I thought somebody had died in my family. Everyone was asking me if I had seen the article. What article, and what does that have to do with me? I am in church for goodness' sake.”
Having read it after being forced to leave Sunday Mass, she then explained that she did remember that a photographer from the paper had come by earlier in the week to take pictures of her. She then had to tell him that he could not just stroll into her office and start snapping away. There were privacy and legal issues to deal with concerning something of that nature.
Photographer. But, Mona, a man wrote an amazing article about you and the work of your office.

I hope & pray that Mona Gills-Collins doesn’t mind me using this mesmerizing picture again.
I can’t explain what it is about this image that fascinated me & caused me to reflect when she first posted it.
It screams simplicity, childlike contentment & it captures the very essence of what it means to “become as little children”.
For me, it captures a moment in time of what everyone that is on that slide to their golden years wishes they had more of.
The opportunities to enjoy such moments are not as elusive as we may think
We have the time, but some think that schedules won’t allow.
The truth is that our quality of life as we seek true maturity demands that we stop the tic, tic, tic echoing in our ears without stopping the clock.
We all must remember how to seize the precious moments to just be quiet & listen to God in the chirping of a bird & the songs of the cricket or His presence in the delicate dance of a humming bird .
I almost used the word “learn” to take these moments.
We know, we’ve just forgotten how & why.
